13 Tanzanians are realising their dreams right now with the help of betPawa’s Dream Maker.
We toured the country in the Dream Bus, encouraging people everywhere to share their dreams. All entries were carefully reviewed and the most inspiring ones are being brought to life.
One of those belonged to Basil. He wanted to build a new home for his parents, whose house was swept away by floods last year.
The Shinyanga resident spoke powerfully about how much his dream meant to him. “This will be the highlight of my life to be honest. This is something so important to me,” he explained.
Another dreamer about to change lives is Boaz from Rungwe. The basketball coach is building a new concrete court that everyone in his community can use.
He said: “People of all ages, genders, social statuses and beliefs will be brought together. My dream is targeting the whole community.”
Bringing people together is Erick from Moshi’s plan too. He’s opening a venue with big screens where everyone can gather to watch live sport.
“This is the thing that I dreamt of for so long”, he revealed, adding that “through Dream Maker, I will make other people's dreams come true as well.”
The Dream Maker’s work didn’t stop there, with a further 10 dreams being chosen:
-> Athumani: owning a sugar cane juice machine to help his business
-> Chacha: owning a sunflower milking machine
-> Clement: starting a car-washing business
-> Edwin: owning an egg incubator to establish a poultry business
-> Juma: completing his university course
-> Lusungu: getting 3 cows for milking
-> Paul: owning a mechatronics laptop
-> Rayah: growing her hair product business
-> Steven: owning a bajaji for business to support his family
-> Upendo: fixing parents’ leaking roof
